Domaining, Internet Marketing & SEO - DomainerSEO RSS

Building a website is just the first step. Search engine optimization (SEO) will get your site listed in Google and other search engines. That's a good start, but marketing and promotion will bring in even more traffic.

If you own domains that you are not using you can park them and earn money. These parked domains can even earn more than fully developed domains. Sounds simple, right? It can be, but it may be hard to know how to start. I spend a lot of time helping people earn money from domain parking at parkquick.com. This site will be more free-form. I'll add stuff here that's too brief or too ephemeral to add to ParkQuick.

I'm coming at this from a different angle. I'm a domainer first. I'm learning the rest of it. I'll share a lot of what I learn - but who shares everything?

Stay Away from RegisterFly

RegisterFly is no longer an ICANN-accredited registrar, but they are again promoting their business.  I haven’t used them for years, since they started billing my credit card every month for a service that I never requested.  ICANN requires that they post the following message on their home page:

 NOTICE TO CONSUMERS.
THE INTERNET CORPORATION FOR ASSIGNED NAMES AND NUMBERS - THE NON FOR PROFIT ENTITY THAT ADMINISTERS THE INTERNET’S DOMAIN NAME SYSTEM, HAS ISSUED A NOTICE OF TERMINATION OF THIS COMPANY’S ACCREDITATION TO SERVE AS AN INTERNET DOMAIN NAME REGISTRAR. PLEASE SEE WWW.ICANN.ORG FOR FURTHER INFORMATION.

If you get an email from them it will probably direct you to a different page so that you never see the notice.  They will likely have some very attractive prices.  Don’t fall for it.  There are plenty of legitimate businesses out there who won’t rip you off.
